Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
This restaurant located on Lavelle Road, Bangalore has been the recipient of various awards prominent among which was "Best North Indian stand-alone restaurant in Bangalore" title conferred by the 2011 Times Food Guide awards. Tattv ,the restaurant clarifies, is a philosophic term which connotes truth, reality, or fundamental principle. In pursuit of rapturous reality,we soon landed up there Ambience- High standards made first impressions. While it is adequate for a honourable evening outside, it stops short of 5 star opulence. The overall chic decor is let down by the the floor's sadly plain... read more

Consistently voted amongst Bangalore's best European-cuisine serving restaurants, Graze in Taj Vivanta had captured my curiosity many moons ago. In order to suit the schedule for my visit, I made the stars propitiously align on one burning summer afternoon.Soon transiting through M.G Road I finally entered the portals of this hotel with the intention of checking whether these 5-star-wallahs were living up to their rarefied reputation.
In this age of do-it-yourself luxury, Taj Vivanta did not even have a doorman to open its portals. Before this self-service, I had to pass through metal... read more
A year ago,on a flying visit, the first dishes I tasted here were Spanish omelette (a subtle counterpoint to the fiesta I was expecting), Egg Chilli (obliged to order this common starter which managed to be above average),and Classic French toast with maple syrup (suited more for Continental kids than for Indian adults).
This month, I re-visited this place with more adventurous companions.
Ambience - Compact room. Black ceiling punctuated by spotlights .Brick-covered floor. Wooden tables and cushioned foldable metal chairs -all approximating a fashionable canteen of an upmarket college.... read more
My initial plan was to dine in this avidly praised Bangalore restaurant in the immediate euphoric aftermath of our cricket team's great 2011 World Cup victory, but Caperberry was hosting an Italian food festival (at least a week long) at that proposed span of time,at the end of which I had to leave dear ol' Bengaluru for a long hiatus. But the afore-mentioned win is a phenomenon whose joy transcends later tragedies and which extends over epochs and stretches into eternity, so I came back eventually for my tryst with this restaurant's multi-course full-blown affair which is the considered one of... read more
Encouraged by the B'lore edition of Times Food Guide; an excellently written review by Suman Bolar in "Food Travel Bangalore", and a favourable article by Karthik Shetty in "Gastronomical G-spot", I along with a close gang of family members ,decided to have lunch at this restaurant which claimed ,and was reputed to serve fine South-Asian food. The location was 3rd phase JP Nagar, in a commercial cluster off the road that soon leads to Banerghatta Road. JP Nagar is not a bright spot for world-cuisine ,but restaurants serving Indian-style food are not scarce here.Over the years (but not recently),... read more
