Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
Nandus is a small joint located in a busy busy area, take out and delivery is their mainstay but i dont think it will be long before it gets more and more popular.
Their menu is expansive and offers a crazy bunch of parathas (from traditional like aloo, gobi to the avant garde pizza paratha , pasta and the insane sounding chocolate paratha) whats amazing is that it actually works and the pizza paratha and the aloo gobi i had rocked as did the garlic and cheese.
they do a mean punjabi, the lasooni paneer was great as was the dal makhani. the masala chaas rocks but i wish it were... read more
Tote on the turf is the hottest new place in town, barely a week old its the brainchild of Indigo?s Rahul Akerkar. Lavishly laid out the place is like nothing in the city. A massive bar, an indoor section as well as garden seating.
The menu is eclectic going from Thai Curry to Lasagna, the dishes themselves are pretty creative, though the odd one just does not work (just like at Indigo)
We had the mushroom tiramisu which was fantastic, as was the macaroni and veggie lasagna. the other two dishes were just okay.
The wine list is a little limited and they didnt... read more
Starboard has long been a watering hole and for sometime now they have been waging the battle against the lack of real Mexican cuisine in this city. i finally had the opportunity to give them a shot this past weekend.
the food is more authentic then tex mex and the tastes might not work for everyone (especially those weaned on the New Yorker variety of Tex Mex) however go in with an open mind and its rewarding.
we had the taco which was unlike most tacos you will have had, veggies, salsa, green beans, veggies, a little dollop of mashed potato on the bottom.
Took the wife to Pure some time ago, the place is very well designed, laid out in two sections white and black. The black one is def the better one, its cozy, private and dimly lit.
Pure is marketed as a organic dining destination which i think is ridiculously inadequate since its more European fine dine than anything else.
You get a choice of ordering off the menu or calling for the tasting menu or the one paired with wine (3000/4000 pp) we chose the menu.
The food overall was okay, i think we made the mistake of not asking the chef to come in and just chat... read more
Vong Wong is a fairly polarizing choice, my last meal there was above average but not memorable. I went in after year or more and found the place to be perfect for a Sunday lunch.
nice big windows, a brilliant spacious layout, the ambiance is brilliant. the service unfortunately is scatter brained but friendly.
the cocktails and drinks are on the money and worth indulging in. there is a dim sum lunch menu which is good, cheaper than the regular menu but the dim sums are weak.
the main menu is expansive, some interesting dishes. we tried the veggies with water... read more
