Personal Stuff

Occupation:
Police Inspector
Favourite Books:
A son of the circus (kicks Shantaram's ass), h2g2, catch-22, closing time, a confederacy of dunces, from third world to first: the singapore story, mafia queens of mumbai, the rum diary. My own autobiography that I'm working on which is based in Mumbai will probably be named "the glycerin diaries" due to the crap they sell as bottled beer here. I also read a lot of philosophy and other mental masturbation. I mostly agree with Descartes' stance. I think Freud was the greatest conman to have ever lived. I have contempt for the field of psychiatry.
Favourite Music:
80's rock (ACDC, Iron maiden, Van Halen, Black sabbath, The rolling stones), Gangster rap (NWA). Also Nirvana, Rammstein, Tool, System of a down, GNR. Some house, reggae, jazz & country. Some Hindi songs. "Item songs" that are played in Mumbai dance bars, what would I ever do without them.
Favourite Drinks:
Black espresso coffee, South indian filter/drip coffee with milk, vat 69, jameson irish, glenfiddich, CCD's greenapple soda with vodka (preferably fuel, grey goose or stoli), mango smoothies & thick mango lassis, carrot juice, kingfisher strong & knockout beers, watery tea/chai often found at roadside stalls of bombay.
Favourite Movies:
Network, Interstate 60, Another earth, 30 minutes or less, Pulp fiction, Scarface, Taxi driver, Sin city, House of 1000 corpses, The devil's rejects, Ali G in da House, Torque, Belly, All fast & furious movies, 007 movies, Planet terror, Death proof, Jarhead...more I can't remember. Hindi: Boom, Bombay Boys (Kaizad Gustad is God), Charas, Kaante, Company.
Favourite Foods:
Most things from Subway, punjabi food that isn't extremely oily or spicy, italian, chinese, pizza, beer, nachos, rice idlis, beef steak, real hamburgers (hard to find in Mumbai), vada pavs, the fish burger @ mcdonalds, chicken lollypop...

This is poolside and the ambiance is very sanitized. They do good vodka martinis. Fairly well stocked bar.

A good refuge of sanitized sanity in this chaotic repressed city. Lots of westerners.

Food menu is insanely prized though. Rs.795 for plate of Vada? Lol. C'est la vie.

I liked the Biryani here though the chicken wasn't fully cooked or fresh. Pretty good flavor.

However it is very crowded and I got seated across a guy who ate his Biryani with his fingers.

I fail to grasp the appeal of this place. It was highly recommended to me by so many people around here and when I went there it was just a regular restaurant serving vegetarian south Indian food, pav bhaji, punjabi & the like.

They give you a paper, which is to be used as a tablecloth, that lists all their locations on it before presenting the menu. It's great that they are doing well, but the menu should take precedence.

Service is good and very prompt. It's my own problem that my Tamil is very rusty.

    The coffee is pretty good.

This used to be a nice place once upon a time but now Everything is mediocre in it.

The pool tables are the worst offender they are shit. I think more than 10 years old.

There used to be a nice bar called illusion where I would drink and then play pool but they changed it to "all spice" which was also acceptable but more family and fine dining oriented, but now it's some boring Indian fine dining restaurant.

    The gokarts suck too.

    Bowling also sucks.

The swimming pool is strictly okay but you need to be a member or go with one.

    The place needs

The Spaghetti Bolognese chicken was perfect. As was Alu gobi cheese Paratha.

They got the coffee right as well.

    Ambiance = functional.

    Service is friendly and prompt.

    No booze.

They shut early I got in just in time for last order, 10:30PM. They claim to open at 10AM. The food is great and it's probably popular and packed in the day time, not a place to hangout at but eat good food.
