Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
I have been living in the UK for a year now. And that's the exact amount of time since my last visit to China Garden. The craving for good Chinese has taken over and there's absolutely nothing in this country that even comes close to Mumbai's haven for Chinese food...
I'd do anything for a portion of veg teppan soba noodles, steamed wantons and paneer in red pepper. And the corn starter!
Oh China Garden! I love you, I can never get enough of you, and I can't wait to come back to feast on you! I'm sure the next few months will be difficult, but well worth the wait...
Was curious about the brand new Spiga so decided to lunch there last week with a friend. The place is on the 4th floor of the Halcyon Complex which is great because it has a very outdoorsy terrace feel. Interiors are all done in stark white (with a bit of blue thrown in) and yet, makes for a comfortably chic environment instead of coming across as sterile. As far as I can remember, most of the tables are low lying.
Space is one thing that this Spiga does not lack; it's massive and even has a bar counter - minus the bar stools though, which is a pity. Service was quite pleasant and the... read more
Went there for the Sunday lunch buffet. The place was very noisy and crowded. Your typical Sunday family types with noisy kids. The place gives you a very outdoorsy feel as it is located on the terrace, which is nice.
The spread: had a few nice salads. The dal makhni was quite good, and so were the other vegetarian dishes. Mutton biryani looked appetizing. The rotis were brought to the table and were hot and well made. Skip the pasta that's part of the buffet - bland and flavourless.
Hot kebabs were also served at the table. There was aloo tikki and paneer for the veggies.... read more
I've had heard so much about Candies that I was glad to finally make my way there last Saturday. The place is really tiny and cute. They have a self-service counter indoors with endless food options on display from lasagna and sandwiches to curries with roti/rice. And let's not forget lip-smacking desserts like cheese cake, tarts, pastries and chocolates. Drinks on offer are iced tea, fresh lime with strawberry crush, cold coffee (supposed to be the best), etc. You basically order, pay and carry your tray to one of the 4 tiny tables on the porch outside. (This outlet is essentially for take aways)... read more
I'm a complete Poison baby. I've practically lived in the Hyd one when it opened, I've been to the Goa one and now that I live in Bombay, I'm a regular here as well.
You'd think that Bombay would be full of party hubs but it really isn't. When it comes to out and out clubbing, Poison is one of the very few places in the city that's actually happening, every single weekend.
The journey begins from the time you tipsily trek down the winding stairs in high heels and your fashionable best and can hear the DJ's pumping music from behind the console. What I love about this place... read more
