Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
Was there on Saturday night (5th May 12) (we had decided to go some place simple because the 4 of us were feeling poor)
The place was crowded when we got there at 9pm and thats usually a good sign. A look through the menu however dispelled any idea of saving money on this particular Saturday out. A 12" pizza with the nicer toppings costs some 500bucks. With Don Giovanni just around the corner, one could have expected a certain rub-off. However, the pizza failed to hit the spot. It was more like - generous portion of meat above an okayish sauce above a nothing to talk home about base.

Went there yesterday (for the first time, alone) and had a good 30minutes to enjoy a hamburger steak (do i hear a groan) with pepper sauce. No talking, No gossip, No waiting for a friend or waiting to be seated - Just me & my steak...
The patty was brilliant. The pepper sauce could have been a lil more peppery maybe.. (but i did request and get 2 extra bowls of pepper sauce - i love dipping my 100Rs Garlic Buttered Toast slices in the sauce bowl).. An even mix of vegetables and that solitary piece of pineapple.
Now at 40 bucks for "extra pineapple", i'd have expected to be given at least... read more
Kalina has no restaurants .... atleast the part of Kalina beyond the university in the run up to BKC. Office space has mushroomed all along CST road but the khaan-waalas havent kept space at all (Save for a udupi called Nityanand)
Malabar Kitchen (Which has a Fine Dining tag attached) is a welcome addition - Now, atleast there's an option
The menu reads off like a place somewhere in the bylanes of Kochi (or Cochin) and has the works except for Beef. Guess the cow is a little too holy to play with so openly in Bombay
We started off with Karimeen Fry (Pearlspot, 200 bucks) - to a... read more
Borivli (W) doesnt have one single restaurant of consequence. I have lived here 36 years of my life & have lamented the fact that there is no place one can order food from regularly for more than two weeks in a row.....
I distinctly remember the day when Dominos opened (and i actually, prayed to god, that these guys find lots of customers & stay)..... Along with a McDonalds, an upcoming Subway & some local old hands like Rasoi, Silver Coin (staid at best) & West Coast - This is the broad repertoire of eating joints in Borivli (not counting the 25 odd pav bhaji places) - i pray once again that... read more
We ordered from here last weekend (Feb 2012) and were very happy with what came...
The order included 2 portions of prawn biryani, 1 rawas curry (white gravy), i portion of surmai masala (king fish) and a portion of smaller sized prawns (than Tiger) in a green chilly masala....Total Damages - 1800/-
I think I liked the prawns in Green Chilli Sauce the most.. It isnt nepali food (i mean, not the Indian Chinese variant) but succulent prawns in a thick green chilli based sauce... Super stuff... the biryani was well done (more like a pulav than a biryani). the two fish currys... read more
