Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
This place was on the cards for a long long time. Coudn't manage to get there during my Delhi explorations, but finally made it after a long wait. I had been there alone, so the entire concentration was on the food and the speed of service.
The service was quick and good. The pasta I ordered was a penne with meatballs in a tomato sauce. It was great. The chicken was perfect sized, the consistency of the sauce was great, the pasta cooked to perfection, and well spiced with herbs. Thourought enjoyed the entire dish.
Along with this I had ordered a banana shake with chocolate... read more
It's good to realise late than never. Eateries like TGIF, Man U are nothing but mind games and run purely on the economics of Demand & Supply.
Food is nothing out of the ordinary, just the usual food. Yes, the atmosphere is loud, lively and jovial, but the cycle of such eateries is on the downturn. The services is good.
The positives of the place I would say is that over the days, the crowd visting such eateries is so varied and give a true local feel to the place, unlike the snobbish places they used to be earlier. The language is more of a mixture than the English and Ameri... read more
This place offers great options - Pizzas, Pastas, Salads, Sandwiches, Subs, Meals as well. They largely cook up an Itialian fare but some other cusines do find their way. Sandwiches can be skipped, as nothing beats the roadside grill as yet.
They serve this Chicken salad with croutons - My favourite. Very leafy with minimal dressing and succulent pieces of chicken. Excellent. They don't have it on the menu, but ask for it saying - The chicken salad on the old menu. Their pastas are great as well. They use herbs very well, a limited few that suit the Indian tastebuds.
The place is got a geat location and a very unique ambiance. It's a long arrangement with 6-7 Shikara style seating on one side and tables on the other. There are 2-3 tables where there is an A/C section. The Non-A/c section had too many flies flying by, though the cross ventilation is pretty good, without the fan (if the power goes) it gets quite warm during the day. The washrooms and washbasins are pretty unclean (not awful), but that is how it is for most highway eateries.
The pricing is in a decent range of around 150 -250 for maincourse dishes. Breads range from 15-35 and sweets... read more
Nightlife is a waste of life. Real life is when the sun is out and the the beer is right. The beer at Mondegar is great. The place is cluttered, but that is the charm. Everything about this place has a charm. Right from the table setup to the frscos on the walls to the people queing outside the place to the cashier at the counter. And most importantly the music is where it scores over Leopold by a lot.
The food is average. I did not try a variety to provde with a honest review on the food. its a 50-50 result. The chesse balls wern't great, but the Sandwich was great.
