I was meeting a friend and we ended up here as their nearest competing wine bar was experiencing a power failure.
The ambience is bright and cheery with really interesting lighting above the bar counter comprising of green wine bottles with bulbs in them (probably a nightmare to clean, i would imagine).
I've always been a fan of Sula's wines and since this was a quick drink we split a pint bottle of Brut. My driver picked up a cake from the Khar outlet on 18th March 2012. When we cut it, the outer edge, seemed fine, but when we got to the centre, one bite and I wanted to throw up. It tasted like raw eggs gone bad. Since it was almost 10pm, we decided to wait till the next day to return it.
The next day when my driver took the cake to the outlet, the person at the outlet asked my driver to get me on the phone. In what probably counts as a major violation of macho law, I decided to get my back waxed. I chose Bamboo Tree because it was conveniently located and had mostly stellar reviews on Burrp, which I agree are well deserved. I especially love the unpretentious attmosphere and the staff is courteous and puts you at ease. Been there twice already and will definitely be going back.
Only one suggestion- a full-length mirror to check the result.
Otherwise- no complaints and great work! -

Karaoke is the single reason I come here. Period. Every place serves alcohol and food but the amazing vibe of the karaoke nights is what I like.
To those who know me off-line, it's no secret I enjoy rock music. And it's an open secret that I am a bathroom singer. Singing in public was always a petrifying idea but the temptation to do a (debatable) Hetfield impression and sing 'Turn the Page' can be too much to not give in to especially when Mario cheers you on.

I liked the ambience of the place- non-pretentious and friendly. A little more towards the 'college canteen' vibe which was helped by the presence of quite a few youngsters. But the staff was warm and hospitable and we decided to stay. There was none of that 'oh we're so cool' vibe you get from quite a few places.
This is the kind of place where you would order beer but we ordered wine. They have a small but adequate wine selection and we ordered a bottle of the Chenin Blanc and followed it up with a bottle of red One Tree Hill which the captain recommended and was excellent.
