Not many places in India usually serve authentic South Asian food. Its always ‘tweaked’ to suite the Indian taste buds. But this cosy place in Koregaon Park, Pune called Malaka Spice is leagues apart. The best thing about Malaka Spice is that it doesn’t compromise on the authenticity of the food. Also enough information is provided in the menu card (one of the best menu cards I’v seen) about the dishes; so first timers need not worry. They have dishes from every part of the Orient .. be it Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Burma or China.

Unfortunately I didnt have the best of experiences with this restaurant. Firstly the place is pretty much cramped up and secondly it seems to be a confused type of a restaurant. Its not able to decide which segment of the people its trying to satisfy! So you have everything from Marathi, Gujju, Rajasthani, Mexican, Punjabi, Italian, and what not types of food .... Unfortunately nothing stands out and also the food seems to be a bit pricey as compared to the portions! Sadly it has tried to be a jack of all trades ..... and got nowhere!!! -

Sahibaan is one of my favorite food joints when it comes to sizzlers. For a change, the sizzlers here are prised reasonably and you end up eating the whole thing (unlike in Kobes or Yokos where you leave the huge pieces of boiled vegges alone) The sizzlers here are smaller in size and much more tastier. The variety of food here is simply amazing. From chinese to Thai to sizzlers, everything is worth a try especially when its so reasonably prised. This place is a favorite with suburban teenagers . .. the best place to treat your friends on your birthday. The food here is fantastic and the prices amazing. They have Chinese as well as Punjabi fare here and both are really good. The menu is quite extensive and the service quite good. The only downside is that it doesnot have air conditioning and is quite noisy, especially as its always filled with a young crowd. So not the best place if you wanna enjoy a quite dinner with your GF or wife. But this place is highly recommended for people who want true VFM. Infact they have 3 branches in Bandra... read more -

Merwans Andheri West | 20 reviews
Merwans is situated near the Andheri station and is one of the best cake shops you can ever have. Their mawa cakes are an absolute treat. I'v never had better ones anywhere else .... these just melt in the mouth. Simply blissful! The other stuff like rolls, puffs, pastries are also always fresh and amazing. In all a fantastic place to grab some nice evening chow! :) -
