Went to Busaba for the first time last evening for dinner, and liked the ambiance. Great weekend dinner place type of place, with a nice bar area and good lounge music, good crowd. I knew this place was expensive, but was not impressed with the food. It is over priced. And mains, which I would assume come with rice/ noodles on the side, were served without that. A small bowl of plain steamed rice touches Rs 200/-... my beef dish seemed similar to what one would eat at say a Five Spice. Not a knocker of a place, no. -

I finally got to dine at what people call 'Kolkata's best restaurant for biriyani' and I must say that it was quite good. I did not go with the high expectations, which was a good thing. The mutton biryani was delicious (however I would not call it the best biriyani restaurant when you compare it to others). We ordered the mutton stew and the mutton rezala both the dishes were delicious. If you are even diet, give this place a skip as the food here is very oily.. I visit High Spirits on every Pune visit, from Mumbai. I have always been very fond of this place - great ambiance, good food and good drinks. Also, I love the music they play. But after yesterday's experience, I don't think I will rave about this place as much as I used to. The guy serving us drinks at the bar yesterday (Sept 3, 2011) was exceptionally rude, on the verge of being cheeky. First, he made a face when I asked him if my long island ice tea can come minus the ice. He refused, saying 'no' and turned away. I have been a regular at Banana Bar for a few years now and really had no qualms about this place. average ambience, nice place to meet up with friends for some drinks before heading out for a more serious night out. But yesterday evening, something that could have been tackled easily in a better way just turned into an unpleasant and unnecessary episode. Well, i was a huge fan of JATC and used to frequent that place, to hang out, eat their famous salads and burgers. But was a bit skeptical about going to EATC, especially after reading the reviews of the place, which are ALL negative and have not been addressed by the EATC / Mars management, which reflects badly.
