Tulips Cumballa Hill  |  6 reviews

Thank God this place has been revived. I missed having a convenient eating spot in the area and found it entirely by accident.

Neat and clean with very simple and basic food, this place is the perfect place to meet over breakfast, lunch tea of dinner since it is open right from 8.30a.m The service is fast and efficient, the food tasty and the place clean.

Even though I had just the chicken patty, it was warmed up to just the right temperature and definitely had me wanting to come back for more!

Sitting under the gaze of a portly Ganesha relaxing on his side, the five ladies who lunch enjoyed a Gujerati thali. Quick service, tasty food and any number of helpings. For just Rs. 250 per person we had rotis - atta, phulka with ghee, jowar, makka, bajra. Then there was rice or toor dal khichadi. We had a bit of mohan thal, dhokla, fried bhajias, roasted and fried papad, kadhi, daal, mixed bhaaji, kathol, aloo mutter bakarwadi and five different kinds of chutneys. The dessert was a choice between fruit custard, shrikhand and gulab jamuns.

I thought it was totally worth it even though

The Table Colaba  |  24 reviews

The Table was the perfect way to celebrate the end of Chaturmas, a four month period of food austerity. My Spicy Grilled Kalamari was perfect with Vallone's Sauvignon Blanc. The bread basket had a delightful assortment of hard bread, biscuit and foccacia. The waiters were attentive an helpful with their food suggestions. The decor was simple yet classy. Be careful with the wine servings though - my half glass was almost the same as my friend's full glass.
Be prepared to have a sizeable hole in your wallet as the wine list has mainly imported wines and alcohol.
But for a truly relaxed and

My first visit to this cafe was sheer curiosity to check out a new place. Of course I was 6 months late in doing this but better late than never. Even though the place was officially not open for business, I was impressed by the warm welcome I received. The decor inside is simply stunning - whimsical, young, vibrant and completely fresh. This made me return to the place and try out the food.
Well, lunch may not be the best time to sample the fares of this place which is decidedly a night spot especially for the young and reckless. But lunch is all I can really manage so I dragged along three

Le Pain Quotidien Colaba  |  35 reviews

For the past two weeks at least I have been visiting this restaurant only to be told that it was going to be opening soon. So when I went yesterday I was pleasantly shocked to find that it was actually open for business and that I was going to be one of its first customers.

The staff was friendly and welcoming and I was shown the communal table where one could dine when all alone. However, since a friend of mine was joining me, I sat on the other side, opposite the broad staircase.

We were shown the menu and after we placed our order I was disappointed to learn that the Quiche
