There are two ways of looking at this joint; one is after considering its history, its long heritage and it being one of the spots for the terrorist attacks in 2008. While taking in the happy noise and laughter, your eyes may meet the bullet marks that the walls here still bear.
On the other hand, you may consider it more analytically and rationally based on food, quality of service and ambiance. This place is frequented by celebs. Thanks to its mention in the Lonely Planet magazine, it has become a mecca for hippies/backpackers.

This place is mostly frequented by omnivores. My predicament was that the group I visited here with were all vegetarians. So I had to live with Veg Kolhapuri (Rs 90), Paneer Kadai (Rs 100) and Tandoori Rotis (Rs 10 each).
The food is reasonably tasty and light. The service is fast and unobtrusive even with the modest, yet clean ambiance.
Maybe I'll have a pomfret here the next time! -

One look at Toto's and you realize that your evening will not end very quickly at this snug, little watering hole.
The place is tiny, with a nondescript partition between the tables for private groups and bar stools next to the open bar. The service staff is friendly... a pleasant surprise in a crowded place like this.
The cost of a Kingfisher Beer pint is Rs 180. But taking in the music, the people around you who are here simply to relax after a hard day's work and the taste of chilled beer, that doesn't seem a lot. -

I would say that Mondys is a much better alternative to Leopold. It has a better ambiance, classier patrons and no firang gawkers.
The oh-so-mumbaiish murals on the walls, retro songlist on its jukebox and ever-ready-to-befriend patrons (a first in my experience of Mumbai's nightlife) make up for the not-so friendly waiters, which is expected at such a fast turnaround spot.
The beer available here is different types and quantities of Kingfisher. A mug costs Rs 140. Apart from that, you can order from a limited wine list.

This restaurant is what separates the world outside from Pritam Da Dhaba. I reckon the food served is from the same kitchen. The ambiance is above average and the food tastes quite well, I must say.
The service is a bit groggy, with the waiters bringing out the wrong dishes to out table twice! But this can be compensated by spotting a Dadar resident celebrity here and there, like Dhanraj Pillai, whom we saw this time.
We ordered a Murg Massalam (Rs 240) and Kasai vegetables (Rs 250) along with tandoori rotis (Rs 30 each).
