Passed by this place a few times and had thought of dropping in - finally did so last month. Did not regret it.
Was my son's birthday and the choice was his. Had been advised by a friend to call in advance and book a table. Glad I did - the place was full shortly after we landed.
The ambiance is excellent - reasonably well spaced out tables where you can eat in peace without having to bother about the folks from the next table pinching food off you!! The lighting was pleasant without being too bright and the staff was courteous and efficient throughout.

Visited this place on a whim last week - had a choice of a few places in the vicinity and chose to try this one.
First up, the way that the place is setup and presented could o with a real overhaul.Te tables are piled on right next to each other - an Udipi joint would have more space. Its one thing to have the place alive with the buzz of conversation - this place is positively noisy, made worse by the fact that its difficult to distinguish where one table ends and the next starts.

Had heard about this place and decided to check it out.
The staff was extremely courteous throughout and we were well looked after. The ambiance was very good and very inviting.
We went with the buffet option. The starters were consistently very good and very enjoyable indeed. While the main course spread was good overall, it is split across cuisines and hence, if you stick to one segment, the choices do turn out to be somewhat limited. That takes nothing away from the taste - that was pretty good throughout. The desert spread was good as well - the strawberry mouse was excellent.

Thanks for the prompt response. Given the constraints you have quoted, the only possible solution is to have the a-la-carte available at both levels. While the buffet is definitely value for money, there are many(like me) who would like to order as they please.

Visited this place last week.
Let me start with the seating and ambience. Crowided tables - you push your chair back a couple of inches and the guy at the table behind you will land his face in his plate!! And the noise levels are unbelievable - absolute cacophony.
The food was reasonably good - fair portions and good taste. The service was anything but acceptable. Orders take a fair while to arrive. We had asked the wiater what choices they had in milkshakes and he suggested a sitaphal millshake - we ordered one. 15 minutes later he saunters back and tells us they dont have it. The Golden Chariot Goregaon East | 20 reviews
This used to be golden Chariot and then was renamed to Mehefil. They started out with good quality and choice. Over time, the choices have come down drastically - only matched by the fall in quality. And what in heavens name is the red decor for. After a while it's quite creepy.
