Palates Thane West | 1 review
It's one of the nicer places in Thane. I've eaten here 4-5 times over last few years and they are consistently good.
Starters are their forte. If you're looking for decent ambience, with average priced drinks, good service and yum Punjabi / Chinese starters in Thane, you should check this out. -

I love this place. It is a dependable option whenever you want comforting Punjabi food with good, reasonably priced drinks.
It's usually jam-packed on weekends and mealtimes. But service is quick, so you can get a table if you plan well.
There aren't many sit-down restaurant options currently at R-City (although TGIF & Yoko's and whatever else opens up may change that). Until then, Urban Tadka is easily the best.
Can't go wrong with whatever you order... limited menu but all good. -

Went there last evening for a quick bite before dessert. The ambiance felt a little cramped and thrown together, more than relaxed. But it was lovely weather, so we settled on the cane chairs outside.
The menu came soon enough. Asked for a Croque Monsieur and a 3 Cheese Bagel. The Croque Monsieur wasn't available, so settled for a BLT bagel. 10 minutes later the bagels arrived. Ligthly toasted, the first bite tasted good albeit low on seasoning. A futher bite of the 3 Cheese revealed a huge lump of Feta cheese that hadn't been spread. Ordered a 3kg two-tier choco-berry cake, with white & pink cream icing for a family event.
The cake tasted yum & looked like a work of art.
Delivery was precisely on time & hassle-free.
The order-taking process (went in person... they have lots of albums, where you can look for designs) & follow-up process was excellent.
The cake left-overs stayed fresh for almost a week.
Slightly expensive at Rs 2600... but at least it is value for money. Not something you can say for most other places. -

It's always exciting when a new place opens up in Powai. The lesser I have to travel to Bandra / Khar / Juhu, the better.
So we did a girls brunch at OOTB Powai on Saturday. Had reserved at Sat noon, which is their opening time, so we were the first ones in.
It's on the first floor of Haiko... so, full marks to location. Ambience is a winner... Both the indoor section (with Japanese style seating) and a gorgeous courtyard section (with distressed finish on the wooden furniture, upside down umbrella lamps and bright picture windows). So 5/5 for location & ambience.
