  • A hidden gem of Bandra! Sep 24, 2010

Pali Village Cafe Bandra West  |  53 reviews

I went to Pali Village today with my girlfriend and we both were absolutely and very much positively surprised!

First, the interior is completely different from any other place in Bandra - it's totally non-snobbish, non-pathos, I would say Paris or Italian style. A place were atmosphere and food are important, rather than expensive glossy pieces of furniture.

Then, music selection is great. We met owner while leaving and he said his wife chooses everything herself. Again, you will not hear this music at any other venue in Mumbai. While many people will question importance of

  • Very disappointing May 26, 2010

    Ray's Cafe & Pizzeria Bandra West  |  55 reviews

Went there a couple of times, both times quite a disappointing experience.

    1) Italian cafe without wine - non-sense? And while you sit - you actually witness wine section of Nature's Basket shop, which makes it even more ironical.

    2) Pizza is FAR from authentic. Bread part is just tasteless. I recommend the chef to visit Italy one day.

    3) Salads are tasteless. We had to leave them untouched.

    4) Drinks list (non-alcohol) is very limited.

The only, ONLY advantage of the place - is it's coziness, never-mind the Hill Rd which is just 5 meters away.

  • RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT

    Business Owner
We're sorry to hear that the food at Ray's did not live up to your expectations. We make every effort to ensure that the food is well prepared, and well liked by our customers and so far we have received largely positive feedback on what we serve. Our sauce and pizza dough is made fresh on the premises everyday and our salads contain high quality ingredients topped with dressings made in house.

As far as the drinks are concerned, we do have wine on the weekends and are in the process of getting the license to serve it everyday. We will look into adding new non-alcoholic drinks so...read more

  • Great ambiance and great Indian food May 25, 2010

Caravan Serai Bandra West  |  40 reviews

One of the coziest places in Bandra. One of the best dal makhanis in town!

Pros: great kebabs, tandoori food, super cozy, friendly service.
Cons: very limited wine list (only cheap wine), kulchas are too spicy.

Wonderful place to visit from time to time!

Café Basilico Bistro & Deli Bandra West  |  50 reviews

Visited Basilico in afternoon and was disappointed that more than half of the menu is not available - why show the full menu then?

Anyway, ordered some risotto and it was rather dry and tasteless. Soups were average.

Ambiance is not very good - people talk very loud and you feel like in a cheap cafe rather than in a trendy place. Almost like Barista.

    Won't go there again!

Papa Pancho Da Dhaba Bandra West  |  24 reviews

It's the only originally decorated restaurant in Bandra I know (most restaurants here have either simple or a formal style) - it feels very cozy inside.

The best veg pulav I ever had in Mumbai, plus amazing veg raita, plus great dal makhani and good kulchas. The only cons are high prices and low variety of drinks (they don't serve alcohol drinks but at the same time don't offer many beverages)

I recommend this place, especially for foreigners and tourists!
