Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
After reading some rather intriguing and overwhelming reviews on burrp, a visit to Hungry Hogs was due. Especially considering that is a few minutes walk for me.
So I made a visit this afternoon, having skipped my lunch. It has been more than a decade since one has left college so I thought I had grown out of hot dogs. well, I was wrong
This place is a must-try for many reasons and I will give you only two of them
a) While I do not know much, it does seem like the place is run by a bunch of chums, who seem to have seen this dream in college ( in fact, they still seem... read more

Blue Ginger has a special place in Bangalore's eat-out history. In the years gone bt it was Paradise Island, for a long time the only place that served Thai cuisine in the city. And what a place it was. For some reason that all changed a few years back and in came Blue Ginger as a Vietnamese place.
Blue Ginger too has won a lot of accolades and one naturally goes in with a lot of expectations
For starters, I do wish that a meal for three would cost at least half of what it does. Close to 9000 rupees. That is something which has to qualify as day-light robbery
This place used to be good when it was chiefly serving Hyderabadi cuisine
We went there on a Wednesday on the occasion of my daughter's first birthday. All in all, we were a group of 7. After having done a good job of managing our reservation considering that we arrived a bit late, it was all downhill
The first thing that strikes is the lack of service. We spent 2 hours there and not once was our water re-filled. For those of us who ordered a pint of beer, we were never asked for a re-fill. That is far too basis for a restaurant that has been around for a long time
The first thing that confuses about J P Balimo is the mismatch between what they serve and our impression of what they may be serving. One woul dnot expect a restaurant with a name such as this to serve a queer mixture of North Indian and India-Chinese that is de rigeur in many quick service restaurants like Sukh Sagar.
The food, as well is of the same standard. Spice and masala laden, it gives temporary satisfaction but usually reminds about itself a few hours later.
The other mismatch is the pricing considering the food quality. You will be lighter by around Rs. 400 + taxes... read more
Had been to China Pearl a few weeks back and came back with very mixed views about the place.
It was on a Tuesday dinner and the reasonable crowd should be a very good indicator that this is a popular place. I had to wait for around ten minutes to get a place. Of course since I was alone, that may have something to do with it since restaurants try their bets to give tables to the larger groups first
Anyway, I started my meal with a sweet corn soup and Thai Fried Chicken. I would say that the soup was disappointing. Considering its as commonplace as water, I would expected it... read more
