Personal Stuff

Occupation:
Dreamer
Favourite Books:
Love Story, Kane and Abel, Moby Dick are some that serve as a blast from the past. I've forgotten so many good books, there's way too many to remember (like Enid Blyton's Noddy series! Or maybe not...at the time it seemed to rock though). in recent times, i've loved Q&A, witch of portobello and kiterunner strike me as a few recent books that i've really liked. Shantaram also struck me as a beautifully crafted novel. Right now, i'm into biographies such as iWoz
Favourite Foods:
Most cuisines go down well with me (generally the ones that carnivores frequent and prefer), but I have a particular affinity for Indian, Mexican and Italian cuisines.

Grillopolis Andheri West  |  201 reviews

I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review for Grillopolis. I always do like a good buffet. Who doesn't? If the price is right, you can eat to your heart's content or until the staff throw you out for eating up the entire day's stock of food. On a slightly more serious note, I dragged my mum and later some friends to Grillopolis and they loved it. In particular my mum, with whom I've returned here at least 5-6 times.

The higher floor has a very nice ambience to it with the bar in the center and two private dining areas at either far corner. At the opposite end is a projec

For an old Burrper like you, I must say you took your time coming around to us. But I am delighted that you finally decided to review us and found us living unto your expectations. Nothing works better at pushing restaurants to do their best than a fair review. I am indebted for that endorsement.

    Chai-Coffi Andheri West  |  16 reviews

I've been to Chai Coffi twice, and the first thing that strikes you when you enter is that it is a bit different to every other reasonably mainstream coffee shop you will experience. Cafe Coffee Day and Barista offer an alright experience on the whole, but it doesn't feel like you're enjoying something of an experience. The closest I came to that was Gloria Jeans, and even then it wasn't all that. That said, I do rate Gloria Jeans as the best true blue coffee joint.

I digress though. The reason my train of thought seemed to be derailed was this; the ambience at Chai Coffi is very classy,

Great music and selection of cocktails, and the food isn't half bad either. Definitely worth a second visit. Do try out their tandoori chicken, I thought it was fantastic...at least I think it was called tandoori chicken, the music was too damn loud for me to hear what the waiter called it.

Cafe Marol Andheri East  |  4 reviews

There's no other way to say it; for a muslim owned restaurant, Marol Cafe's biryani is a major let down. Both chicken and mutton failed to set my taste buds on fire. They had an odd, achari flavor to it that didn't go down well with me, although your mileage most certainly may vary.

But that is a minor bugbear. Cafe Marol is a restaurant aimed at a more humble clientele, even if it does have an AC section that is sealed off. What I do love about Marol Cafe is its chinese food.

Available in half (as pre-mixed combo's) or full portions, their chinese tastes fantastic and even their

Marigold Residency Hotel Andheri East  |  1 review

Buffets are always a mixed bag, but I like buffet meals simply because you can make whatever you want of it. There is a caveat though; there needs to be enough quality in the variety to make the meal enjoyable, and I think all buffet lovers will agree with me on this.

Of the 4 or 5 times, I have dined at Marigold Residency's in-house restaurant Citrus Court, I have found the spread (consisting of naan, plain or biryani rice, some starters and a few gravies) to be strictly average bar one day when the chef was inspired and the meal was outstanding. Not one or two dishes, but all of it.
