This review is about the whitefield outlet where I went sometime last week. Small, airy and comfy the place looked just right for some chai and pakoda. The menu looked interesting. Odd snack items reminded me of college but was a definitely welcome change from a lot of snack joints. My star item of course was to be the chai. I'm not exactly a connoisseur but I've had half a litre of tea in a day everyday for the past 20 years so I should know my stuff.

Birthday celebration ends in medication.
As is our tradition, wifey's birthday called for a special meal with family. We decided to go out but somewhere closer home so that we could rush back if the kid or weather got real cranky.
Little did we expect crankiness in everything else but the two aforementioned entities. Weather was fantastic and the baby, well, slept like a baby!

B-flat and High Note Bar with the musically inspired name (and all that jazz) promised to be interesting. Four of us after much 'soul' searching zeroed in on the new joint. The ambiance and decor certainly looked classy. The music pepped us up and the lighting set the mood. The menu also seemed comprehensive with little details about the constituents of each dish. When it comes to eating out with wifey on special occasions, we somehow end up in a place owned by the BJN or the Royal Orchid Group. Like some inevitable truth, we find ourselves looking at some classy decor, great ambience, detailed menus with vivid descriptions under fancy titles. [It's about time they took us on board now :)]

On summer afternoons, a few years back, sitting in Kubay with the windows open, it was difficult to believe you are not in some coastal town. The eating area was bright; the thin white and blue curtains fluttered as if they were playing with a cool sea breeze. The huge, music CD collection ensured that all kinds of numbers were played like a medley. The waiters in blue shirts reminded you of a bright blue beach. If it weren't for the traffic outside you would not believe we were in Koramangla. With a great Mangalore experience, at prices that didn't burn your pocket, Kubay WAS a shining star.

I will begin with how you summed it up. I wouldn't call ur review as criticism rather call it as inputs. I agree friendliness can't replace efficiency nor can lack of resources be hidden by trying extra personal hospitality from d host herself. Also ur observation on d Kullad Chai is a valid point. I begin my response(not a case fought in court but an honest admission) by firstly apologizing for it.
