Visited this place with team for afternoon buffet. We were expecting it to be good as I had heard good things about the food and the price of the buffet was 550/- (excluding taxes) per head.
First the variety in the buffet was pathetic. Two starters and two curries and two desserts is not called a buffet. People opt for buffet to have a wider selection of food to choose from. Additionally they serve the food on tables in a tortoise speed. Requests are refill at table take long, and hence we finished up fast.

When I had food at the place, I found two insects (one live) in my soup. I showed it to the service manager and met with confused looks. But they readily made another soup, which I declined.
As you can imagine, the first item served to us here was a disaster. But by the time I left the restaurant, they had pulled up handsomely, and managed four stars. The only star I am taking away is for the insect soup.
Well the place is nicely decorated. I had ordered a wood fired thin crust pizza and really liked it. I also had pasta, fajitas. I liked each and everything.

I have always loved Mangalore Pearl for their cuisine and excellent food. Now that I live far off from the restaurant, I started looking for a restaurant serving the same cuisine nearby. Burrp helped me find Kubay.
I visited the restaurant for the first time on the weekend. As I entered, I was a little apprehensive as the place was totally empty on a weekend afternoon. But proceeded to get seated and order starters.

I have booked Meru cabs twice. Both the times the driver did not show up. The funny thing is they gave the exact same reason that their car has just now met with a small accident.
Thanks to neighborhood taxi service I did not miss the train I was supposed to catch. Later on, when I talked to friends they all mentioned that Meru is not interested in taking client anywhere except airport. -

I am reviewing this place again after one and a half years. The ambiance of the place has improved, and I found the place much more cleaner than the last time.
The food was excellent. It was better than my already high expectations. The two of my favorite dishes "Gatte masala" and "Dal bati churma" were very good. Sweets were excellent and they alone were worth the money I paid for the whole thali.
Overall I would rate the restaurant at 4.5 stars. A few things that I would like to mention for the restaurant:
