Oh how I wanted to like this restaurant! A thai restaurant in Indiranagar! I couldn't wait. I love thai cuisine - with its amazing medley of sour and sweet and spice, kaffir lime, sweet basil and lemongrass.
But, ingredients need to be understood, to be combined and cooked with intent and expertise.
Unfortunately, the food I ate at High on Thai was as Thai as my kickboxing - which means, not at all.
Ok, the Tom Kha soup was good, very good, and for a while hinted at a promise that was soon shattered.
The mango salad was okay, a bit too sweet, almost like chaat.

I am a huge believer in the therapeutic power of massages. I have been to spas in Bangalore, Calcutta, Mumbai and in the US and Thailand.
Over the years, i have come to appreciate the many ingredients that go into making a good spa and I have to say that without doubt, my experience at the Asian Women spa was the worst ever.
Firstly, when I am paying Rs 3000 + for a massage, I expect top quality. Here, the room was drab and cold, the massage table narrow and uncomfortable. But even that is forgivable if the therapist knows what she is doing.

I've never been in Xian, but I've been hearing a lot about it. I was at a friend's place around lunch time and he happened to have done a take away - I ate and I was impressed. So impressed that my mouth is watering even now as I write the review. Some crab dish - dry and spicy - and the chilli chicken was phenomenal. The noodles were good too, but not as good as the other dishes.
I will be visiting them again and will update my review soon. -

This is a place that has a lot of promise. And is already very good. I will be back to write a detailed review after visiting them on a weekend night. I went there for lunch and although service was a bit tardy initially, it soon picked up.
I ordered a beef burger - excellent, quite possibly one of the best in Bangalore. No draft beer yet. Still awaiting the microbrew. But the layout of the place is fantastic and one gets the distinct feeling that come friday and saturday night, this is where the beautiful people congregate.

As a child, when Bangalore was smaller and gentler, I would sit with my parents and sister, and we would watch the cooks throwing dough into the air. We would eat their pickled onions (long before any other restaurant had them), and wait for the food to arrive, and when it did, we would all eat it with an enjoyment that would be the hallmark of our trip to bangalore.
The place is crowded now, but this reflects a changing Bangalore
The food is still outstanding, the tandoori chicken, the daal makhani, the naans, everything.
