Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
We decided to try out CP because it was close to a friends house. By the time band practice was over, the group had grown to 13 or so, so we were definitely going to give them a run for their money.
Ambiance:
Huh? It's a two-story shed that's all open on the front. Some mis-matched decor and uncomfortable tables/chairs with a desperate effort at 'hip' by throwing a couple of bean bag chairs around.
The upstairs is certainly not kid-friendly, with a dangerous railing that wouldn't keep even a mild-mannered child from going through. If this was the west, there would be... read more
We've been long term fans of the LI in Indiranagar for some time, but it's a real pain to make the trek all the way over there. Consequently, we only ever went if we were in the area already.
Thankfully, the new branch in KOR is only 5 minutes away from home.
Location:
You'd have to know it's there to get there. Hidden a street away from the Forum, as long as you get directions you'll be fine.
Ambiance:
Head and shoulders above the branch in Indiranagar. Where the other one looks like it was (obviously) cobbled together from various rooms (each with their... read more
Last night I was forced to trudge over to HRC for dinner. I mean it, I was forced. The wife and kids were begging for it, so they could laugh at the 80's music videos.
So, against my better judgment, I went along. Now, we lived in Vegas for a few years, and various other places in the US for the rest of our lives until we moved here a couple of years back. I can honestly say I am embarrassed that many B-Town residents might view the HRC as a representation of my home (the US).
First of all, the service and servers are horrid. They don't have a clue about the menu. We were... read more
With the help of our fellow burrp reviewers, we stumbled across this new Chinese restaurant called P!ng in Koramangal, on 1st Cross, took some friends and we had a great time.
The ambiance is great, modern with no faux Oriental nonsense, and pleasant. It's a big space, so they must be dreaming big! Everything was clean and professional, and the kitchen is open, which is encouraging as you can look in and see the clean work space.
The starters are top notch, we got the non-veg platter, but substituted the lamb for chicken (we don't care much for 'baa baa' on the plate). Each... read more

Dear Pastameshugana (I like the ID),
It was a pleasure to see you in our restaurant. Humbly speaking, I feel as if we almost passed an acid test getting the review we got from a well travelled connoisseur like you. To share with you something, we heard feedback that we should probably put chinese like ambience and music; and I like that you appreciated us not having gone that way because we do not want to overdo the whole chinese razzmatazz. For that matter, we have not used any chinese characters in our hoardings. Coming to food, it is a pleasure to know you liked our dishes and I'm glad...read more
It's time to dish on one of our old family favorites: Xian. When we moved to B'Lore from the US a couple of years back, one of the first places our fellow Red White and Blue's took us to was this tiny 'hole-in-the-wall' just off Ulsoor lake (is that thing really a lake, by the way?).
Needless to say, we were a bit skeptical, judging by the size and the (low) prices. However, in the last couple of years, Xian has turned into not only a favorite, but one we zealously 'evangelize' for!
Rumor has it (and I heard it straight from the owner's mouth) that they are in the process... read more
