  • Nice atmosphere - mediocre food Apr 13, 2012

    Bene Malleshwaram  |  3 reviews

I went here a few days ago. The bread basket at the beginning was nice, but the rest of the food was overpriced and mediocre. The atmosphere was quite nice though.

Taco Bell Malleshwaram  |  26 reviews

The author Marcel Proust famously talked about smells triggering off memories of things past and scientists now study the reasons for this. Visiting Taco Bell took me back 15 years to when I was a poor graduate student in the US and used to eat there as that was one of the better options in the university food court. The moment I entered I got a waft of the severely `refried beans' - which come in a box to which you just add water. The taco I had - or some variant of it - tasted exactly like the inedible gop I used to eat - liberally dabbled with Fiery Sauce to make it vaguely edible - but it made... read more

The Egg Factory St. Marks Road  |  130 reviews

I spent a few hours reading and doing some work at the Egg Factory. It was very pleasant - it was morning so not too crowded and on request the staff changed the music. One common problem in many places is that the music can be quite annoying - often too loud and inappropriate. It was nice when the windows were open but when the place filled up with the lunch crowd they wanted to shut the windows and turn on the AC - which made things louder. Anyway, all in all it was a pleasant experience - coffee was okay and of course its pretty hard to screw up eggs so they were quite good. One way this place... read more

This place is good - I would say one of the better restaurants in the central Bangalore area. Very pleasant atmosphere. Good food, Not too expensive and very tastefully decorated.

I've eaten there on numerous occasions and while never quite blown away by the quality of the food - never been disappointed either. Perhaps with a little bit of effort they could make really excellent food. I had a fish dish there - which I later saw was rated the best fish dish of that type in Bangalore - but I felt that while the fish was good - the spicing was slightly off. I've had Pizza there on several

Also, next time, do tell us your preference in the preparation of the fish, our chef will definitely accommodate the same.

Okay, I went again tonight and was very happy with the food. I had some sort of malaysian chicken curry which was pretty nice. We had the mezze platter to start of with - which was excellent - though a bit overpriced for the amount they give - its essentially a dollop of excellent hummous with pita - with few other things thrown it - but 300 + tax + tip is a little much for it. The rest of the meal though, was reasonably priced and very good. I was very happy with the dessert - a chocolate mousse cake. The drinks - iced tea - was initially a little sweet but the manager was nice enough to replace...read more

  • Best New place in Malleswaram/Sadashivanagar Area Oct 14, 2011

The Orchard Sadashivnagar  |  12 reviews

The food was very tasty. Two dishes with some naans was enough for two meals for two people. Service is prompt and efficient without seeming overbearing.

We had a paneer dish as well as some dal. Both were excellent. Each dish was between 150 and 200 and was really quite large.

The only objection I have to this place is that they encourage illegal parking on Sankey Road - but they are not alone in violating local laws.

I would strongly recommend this place. Its perhaps the best new restaurant I have been to. It is vegetarian - which could be a drawback for some peopl
