I had been looking at this place ever since it opened on Church Street and had been waiting for an opportunity to try it out. That opportunity presented itself two weekends ago and a friend and I went here for dinner. We were met in the main foyer of the building by the host who asked us if we wanted to go to Ruby Tuesday or Mandarin Express as both restaurants are located here. After expressing our wish to dine at Mandarin Express, the host politely ushered us to the restaurant's door. Inside we were greeted by a smiling waiter who asked us where we would like to sit. I chose a quiet corner table... read more
I had seen this place very often in Koramangala whenever I drove past on my way to Bannerghatta and always wanted to go in. Finally, a friend and I went here two weeks ago. I was pleased to find that the place had a convenient side parking lot - well the pavement really, but it was clearly meant for the Mr Beans' visitors cars and bikes. After parking the car, my friend and I strolled inside, walked over to the counter and looked at the menus. After ascertaining that the place was not a self- service one, we sat down on nicely uphostered leather furniture and looked at the menus. The range of items... read more
A friend and I decided to have a light snack in the evening today and Emgee's being a place which I have wanted to go to for ages, was our place of choice. We walked in and were escorted by a polite waiter to a nice table for two. The menu was quickly brought to the table and after reading through the menu we ordered a plate of idlis, a salt Lassi and an Apple Juice. The waiter took our orders and disappeared. However he came back a few minutes later and apologised to us, saying that there was no Apple Juice or Salt Lassi available. Knowing how most South Indian restuarants of this calibre operate,... read more
My Mom, brother and I decided to try out this restaurant for my Mom's birthday dinner. Being a Friday evening, I called the restaurant in advance and made a reservation for around 7:45 to 8 pm. Though we left home with plenty of time to spare, we were a little late in arriving as I am not familiar with the exact location of Pappanna Street. However, thanks to the very courteous and helpful reception person at the restaurant, who I called while driving down St Marks Road we found the place. The valet hurried forward to park my car as soon as we drew up and after taking a Parking ticket we walked... read more
I went here for dinner one night, at the invitation of two Swedish friends who were doing an internship in Bangalore. We were a large group of around 10 people - European mainly, with a couple of Indians thrown in. We walked in, climbed up the flight of stairs as we didnt want to use the readily available lift and entered the restaurant. We were ushered to a large table and sat comfortably down. The waiters brought us the drinks menu and the food menu almost immediately after we were seated. All of us decided against liquor and instead perused the food menu. I decided to share a Cream of Broccoli... read more
