Not too tough to locate, Desi Tarka is tucked away in a small street opposite to Maiyas.
The involvement of the owners and their hospitality is commendable. Food simple, homely and tasty. We tried the Hara Bhara kabab, palak baby corn, paneer makai mutter, veg paratas, tandoor rot is, jeer a rice, veg biryani and lassi.
Rotis are apparently made from 100% wheat and pretty evident in the taste and texture. Gravies aptly spiced. Jeera rice yummy.
A place with some simple ambience, simple menu, simple people and simple food. Light on the tummy and not too heavy on the pockets either.

Bangalore has been witnessing a spurt in the 'fine dine' rage ... and more so in the Pure Vegetarian range. Being a passionate foodie, i quickly get interested in visiting such restaurants.
I had been hearing of 'The Orchard' from a couple of friends and also read about it somewhere ... decided to give it a try on a weekend and i must admit the outcome was gastronomically Fabulous.
Decor and service pleasant. They do have some open rooftop seating but with kids around, we preferred the indoors.

Had been waiting for a while to dine at this restaurant. Quite a few reviews both positive and negative prompted me to check this place out.
Well, i did get this oppurtunity recently.
Let me briefly explain what i quite did and did-not like here and would hope gets into the Diaries of the owners. Again these are my personal opinions and needs no debates !!
Ambience and Service are good. While not too overbearing, the waiters ensured we dint really get bored waiting for the food to arrive/replenish.The concept of Buffet at the Table was a nice one.

The place has been around for quite a few years now and the manager too seems to be around for a really long time. The chats are worth a try specially the kachoris and dahi puris ... and so are the namkeens. Their cold bad am milk is thick and yummy. Parking is easily available within the BDA complex in the evenings ... -

Rs.1100 for a lunch buffet and at the Taj! What would one expect??
If you have a choice, then skip this restaurant. Well, we were kind of forced to go there, with the gift coupons that we had!
Salad bar is ok but without the labels, veggies have a tough time. There were some pita and hummus around, but the waiters despite request said the customer needs to create the end product himself. I would have expected someone to help me make it! There were no Indian starters in the menu expect the paneer tikka! Main course consisted of 2 colored rice, rot is and some yummy gravies (saving grace).... read more -
