Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
First up, I'd like to clarify that my family and I have been patrons of 1947 for some time now. The restaurant is one of the few places in the vicinity that serves some tasty, wholesome vegetarian food with fairly good service. (The reason for the three stars is just that, and based on previous experiences in this restaurant.) My rant today is not so much about the food, but about the appalling service that left us wondering if we should ever come back again.
Being a Saturday night, we called in advance to make reservations. The person who answered the phone was obnoxious (to say the least... read more
Don't get me wrong - I like Shanti Sagar. I like it for its quick and cheap food and fast service. I don't go there expecting ambience or valet parking or even good seating.
I do expect these things when I dine at TGI Fridays, however. TGI Fridays, though considered equal to our Shanti Sagars in the US, have come to be associated with lounge dining here in India. (More upmarket than a McD's but lower than a regular restaurant, sorta.) TGI Fridays prices are almost dollar rates converted into INR, but they used to boast of an international menu, comparable to the US menu.
My husband and I visited ITC Windsor's Habba brunch on Sunday. The concept of the Habba brunch is that you can opt for particular items from any of the hotel's restaurants (such as Dakshin, for example), apart from having the brunch. While the varied items in the brunch leave very little room to sample anything else, this may be a good choice if you like a particular dish from one of their restaurants and wish to have it at the brunch.
The brunch covers Indian, Lebanese, Thai, Chinese and Continental. The food is fairly average, but the variety is vast. They have something to please every... read more
After reading a million good things about P!ng, I finally landed up there for lunch on a Saturday. I had made reservations the night before through their online reservation system, but having received no confirmation, I called them the following morning. (Tip 1: Forget the online reservation system and just call to reserve a table.) We reached 30 minutes early, but perhaps because that day was Diwali, there were no other customers and we were seated immediately.
The first thing that struck me about the place was there was nothing Chinesey or even remotely East Asian about it. The entrance... read more

Dear Shefalish,
Thanks a lot of behalf of the entire team at P!ng for your wonderful feedback that you have shared with us as well as with your fellow burrpers

Yes, it indeed is the ONLY place. The only place where you can find steaks so good you are salivating for days thinking about them, the only place where you get true value for money, the only place where everything on the menu gets at least a 4 on 5 in terms on portion size, taste and quality, and (probably) the only place where no alcohol is served with the meat, but is still so popular!
Situated in a quaint bungalow behind the Post Office on Museum Rd, The Only Place can be missed, if you are not looking for the fat red lips signboard as soon as you turn into Museum Rd from Richmond... read more
