I have been going to this place since I was a kid. Eating Black Forest Pastry for Rs. 8/ and they used to serve Chef's Pizza (chicken & prawn) for Rs. 16/ in the '70s. Good food.
In the '90s they used to have a desert buffet for Rs.125/ (excellent !) and there used to be a line waiting outside.
Circa 2011, it was empty when I visited a few days back. Went there for desert and was sorely disappointed. The quantity was uughh ! I mean you charge a bomb and give me me a blink n u miss it quantity.

I went there with my wife and child 2 weeks back. Good ambience, different and not run-of-the-mill. We ordered a starter which was good !
Then we ordered a veg. dish which was again good and Chicken Rissoto (Italian Job) and - Voila ! Tasty with good chincks of chicken but before you could finish pronouncing the dish name, it was over ! Seriously guys, for the amount it cost per head, one could have a buffet at Sea Princess OR Ramada (Palm Grove).
Would think twice before visiting again. -

I went there a few weeks back with my wife and small child. The place has a pleasant feel accentuated by soft, good retro music.
The best part: on our next table was a young mannerless couple openly indulging in PDA not paying attention to the onlookers AND my son sitting just close-by. Hats off to the waiters to bluntly tell them that this was a 'family restaurant' and to behave themselves. Inspite of the guy's arrogance, the Management stood it's ground with the result the couple left.

This is the ONLY non 5 star place in Mumbai which serves authentic Italian food (I can vouch for that having eaten in Italy and a good selection of wines.
No nakhras unlike 'Mangi Ferra' which tries to cheer up with DJ music, seperate bar section et al..
Simple ambience, makes you feel you are eating in one of the un-conspicuos European joints. A tad heavy on the pocket considering the quamtity. But then, in Mumbai, even water is expensive. Go there only for the authenticity. -
