Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
I mean it, finally, one decent, south delhi, comparatively inexpensive drinking and good eating place! Chilis is apparently a dallas burger joint with restaurants across the world. In India, they are presently in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai & Delhi.
The ambiance is typical of an American diner. Huge booths, with vibrant colors, good music, vibrant, enthusiastic staff, the trademark huge red chili has a significant presence. We went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was full. Surprisingly, there were a lot of kids.
So in the given location, the alcohol is the cheapest... read more
Situated in the lovely Hauz Khas Village (Village? Really?), Naivedyam has a lovely entrance. Banana shoots on either side, huge leaves making an arch. A cute idol of nandi, with a beautiful lit lamp, matched with incense sticks burning, makes for quite an entrance!
The seating inside is warm and pleasant, lovely paintings adorn the walls. I was surprised to see on a Wednesday night, it had some 70% occupancy. There is classical music playing in the background adding to the whole appeal of the place.
Each table is served with a welcome drink (Rasam) and an appetizer (Fried Papad... read more
Review – Avoid it, overpriced, waste of time, money and effort of eating!
Starters ordered the Basil and Tomato Bruschetta, which was a regular one, decent, nothing worth mentioning, or even worth ordering.
Coming to the food, we had the Al funghi (with mushrooms, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese), and the Veg chilli pizza. I really don’t know anyone else who makes it this way, but this chilli signature amici pizza had deep fried paneer as a topping. For starters it not only spoiled the taste but it also did not blend in. Also none of the other veggies were cooked.
Mamagoto, was earlier recommended by a friend, it is on the second level at select city walk, right next to Fab India. It was a Sunday evening, the place was full, but they managed to give us a table in ten minutes.
Mamagoto (like the name!) is a asian fusion place. The décor is lovely, bright yellow coloured walls with some Japanese paintings. They even have the last supper in true Japanese style.
This place serve some fine thai, Japanese / chinese / asian cuisine. Their menu includes dishes like the rock Shrimp tempura, calamari, veg tempura, Canadian pork, new Zealand lamb... read more
Laajawab - fine name for a restaurant :) but the food was 'Almost there - Laajawab'
The restaurant is on the first floor, the good part is it has valet parking :) The ambiance is strictly okay, the tables are too crammed, there is hardly any space to move within the restaurant.
There is the lunch buffet and the a la carte.
Had the a la carte in perfect punjabi style. Tried the lahori aloo and the kadhai veg. The lahori aloo and the dal tadka were really good, a must have! Do try the amritsari kulcha - although one is enough and can be very heavy. The lachha paratha... read more
